A Few Upcoming Events

Demonstration at Obama event - Monday (06/15)
President Obama will be in downtown Chicago Monday (06/15) speaking to the American Medical Association at the Hyatt Regency on Wacker Drive. GLN will be working in cooperation with ANSWER to put together a protest demanding that he fulfill his promises (and a lot more) about ending wars abroad, repealing the Defense of Marriage Act, Don't Ask Don't Tell, and more. Given the time of day, even though our numbers won't be large, it is important that we be out there. The protesters should plan to gather at 10:30 AM. If you plan on coming out or if you can help with a possible banner (about DOMA and DADT), contact Andy at 773.209.1187.

Safe Schools Event by GenderJust – Monday (06/15)
Safe & Affirming Education Community Forum June 15th at 6pm at Lozano Library (1805 S Loomis). CEO of Chicago Public Schools, Ron Huberman, will be present to hear stories and student-initiated solutions as part of Gender JUST’s Safe & Affirming Education Campaign! Come out and show your support. See GenderJUST’s Fb event.

Queer Rights Rally in Joliet – Saturday, 07/18
Mark your calendars for July 18th. The Gay Liberation Network will be working with Community Alliance and Action Network to sponsor a Queer Rights Rally in downtown Joliet to support local, state, and federal changes that would ensure the civil rights of LGBTQA folks. We hope to get a large group from Chicago to caravan and/or take the Metra. See my blog post or our Fb event and spread the word.

GLN is now on Twitter!
